FAQ's
-
Why should I use On-Site Document Destruction® shredding services instead of a paper shredder that I can keep at my desk?
The On-Site Document Destruction® shredding vehicle is capable of shredding massive amounts of papers very quickly. When it would take an in-house employee 8 hours to shred a batch of papers, our shredding service would process the paper in 15 minutes. Our services allow your employees to spend their time on valuable tasks that are oriented towards reaching your business goals while maintaining confidentiality and freeing up your resources.
-
How will I know if On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction has shredded all of my confidential documents?
On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction will present a Certificate of Destruction for each visit to your business location. Therefore, On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction gives you written documentation for records.
-
Do I need to remove paper clips or staples from my documents?
No, the low-speed, high-torque shear process can shred paper clips, staples, binders, and even videos, reel-to-reel tapes and compact discs.
-
What should I shred?
Payroll stubs, account information, addresses, phone numbers, applications, background checks, budgets, memos, design ideas, legal documents, manuals, training information, trade secrets or any type of confidential information. Any paper that is being thrown away can be placed in the On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction bin to be recycled. See our full list of recommended items to shred.
-
What happens to the papers after they are shredded?
The shredded material is compacted and mixed with other data, making it virtually unidentifiable. Then, the shredded papers are manufactured into recycled paper products. This ultimately reduces costs and waste and creates environmental sustainability.
-
How often does the On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction driver come to shred confidential documents?
On-Site Document Destruction® Destruction offers both Scheduled Services and Purge Services. Scheduled Services are for businesses that regularly generate confidential information. The volume of documents produced will determine the frequency of their services. Purge Services are for businesses that do not have a steady need for document destruction services. Their visits are determined on an as-needed basis.
